Carbo Craving is a proprietary combination incorporating the herb, Gymnema
sylvestre. The Indian name for this herb is "Gurmar" which
translates literally to "sugar destroyer". Gymnema sylvestre
is an Ayurvedic herb that has been traditionally used to improve sugar
tolerance. Gurmarin and gymnemic acid have been shown to hinder the
ability to taste sweets. Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia), known for its
blood sugar lowering properties, has also been added to this unique
formulation. Hypoglycemic properties of Bitter melon are attributed to
steroidal saponins, insulin-like peptides, and alkaloids. Tyrosine and
5-Hydroxy-L-Tryptophan play an important role in the body’s production of
serotonin, which is linked to normal nerve health, and may influence moods. v
